Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has declared Thursday, August 30, a work-free day in the state.
It would be recalled that the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise which was earlier extended by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by two weeks will end on Friday, August 31.
According to a press statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi, the holiday is to enable public servants participate fully in the ongoing voters registration exercise which will end on Friday, August 31.
Akeredolu urged public servants who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), to take advantage of the period to do so as well as those who are eligible to participate in the electoral process.
The governor charged all council chairmen, religious and traditional leaders to encourage their subjects to register.
