The Benue State government says the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has unfrozen its bank accounts.

Governor Samuel Ortom’s Chief Press Secretary Terver Akase, who confirmed this to newsmen said the government’s accounts were frozen on the claim that Governor Samuel Ortom’s security vote was being investigated.

Akase says the action of the anti-graft commission is a political witch-hunt against his principal after he defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the People Democratic Party (PDP).

Meanwhile, reacting to the development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Governors’ Forum Governor Abudulaziz Yari said the action was unconstitutional.
