The reconciliation meeting between the Federal Government and members of the academic staff union of Universities (ASUU) has ended with agreements reached on some of their demands.

During the meeting which lasted for about 15 hours, the Minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige offered assurances of Government’s commitment to immediately commence the payment of salary shortfalls and funding for Universities’ infrastructure.

The ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, said the union now have some concrete proposal that will be taken to its memebers for consideration adding that the Union will come back to meet with Fedral Government after one week to take its final decisions.
