The House of Representatives is currently voting on Amendments to the 1999 constitution.
This comes a day after the senate did the same, rejecting the devolution of powers to states, while okaying autonomy for local governments and reducing the age limit for eligibility to run for political office.
There was a rowdy session in the House ahead of the commencement of voting, but order was restored and voting commenced around midday.
First bill on including former Heads of the National Assembly in the Council of State is considered
Also an amendment is proposed and adopted to include the provision that all impeached former President, Governors not be included in the council of state.
Members were, however, divided over the result and the speaker ruled that the bill failed.
