Residents of Ijoka in Akure South Local Government Area, of Ondo State are lamenting over the problem of water scarcity in the area.
Some of the residents who spoke with Breez FM, revealed that the issue has been affecting the area for over ten years.
One of the residents, Mr Olusesan Olabanji who expressed his concern over the issue said that the provision of potable water in Ijoka will ward off imminent outbreak of disease like cholera, guinea worm, typhoid and other water borne diseases.
He stressed further that water scarcity has led to low productivity of services and economic meltdown in the area.
Olabanji also appealed to the Ondo state government to come to their aid by providing adequate water supply in the area.
