The Imo State Police Command have reportedly rescued a Magistrate in charge of Ihiaagwa Magistrate Council in the Owerri West Local Government Area of the state, B. U Adikibe, after reportedly spending 48 hours in the kidnappers’ den.

It was revealed that the Magistrate was on March 15, allegedly abducted by gunmen on the Owerri  Port Harcourt expressway on her way home after close of work.

The jurist’s driver who was equally kidnapped was later released by the gunmen who established contacts with her family, demanded for N2 million as the condition for her freedom.

Speaking to the newsmen, the Spokesperson for the Police in the state, Andrew Enwerem, said that the Magistrate had been rescued unhurt and reunited with her family.
