Kidnapping: Bauchi okays death sentence

Governor Mohammed Abdullahi of Bauchi State has signed into law a bill in that makes kidnapping punishable with death or life imprisonment.

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ibrahim Umar, made this known today while briefing newsmen in Bauchi.

Umar added that if the victim dies as a result of the kidnapping, the offender will be punished with death.

Lagos is another state that on February the first this year approved death sentence for kidnapping.
