The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, on Sunday evening led a  delegation  from the state to break Ramadan fast with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.

In his  entourage were the  Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Aliyu  Muduru; Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa; the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar-Farouk; the Magajin Garin Katsina, Alhaji Aminu Abdulmumuni; the Yandakan Katsina, Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada;  second Republic senator,  Abba Ali; the former Grand Khadi, Alhaji Isah Dodo; and representatives of political and religious groups from the state.

Speaking after breaking his  fast, Buhari urged Nigerians to continue to persevere as the current hardship in the country  would soon end.

The President said efforts were  being made by his regime to lay a solid foundation for the nation’s economic growth and development.

He also lamented  the  arms deal and contract scams  as well as corruption in every sector of the economy.

Buhari explained that progress had been recorded in the rehabilitation of the nation’s battered economy, adding that people responsible for this were  being arrested and interrogated.

He  praised Masari, whom he said, had been prepared for leadership right from the time he was the  Speaker of the House of Representatives.

While urging a return  to farming, the  President emphasised that his administration was  determined to develop education, health and other critical sectors of the nation’s economy.

Masari commended him for accepting to host the delegation to the break of the fast.

The governor said the delegation was at the State House to welcome back the President from his recent foreign trip and prayed for the success of the administration.

The Emir of Daura, in his remarks, showered encomiums on Buhari for his efforts at putting Nigeria back on track.

Highlights of the visit was a special prayer led by a former grand Khadi, Isah Muhammad Dodo, for Nigeria.
