Malachi Coker has stepped down as the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, while Honourable Iroju Ogundeji has emerged as the Deputy Speaker.
Honourable Bamidele Oleyelogun emerges has new Speaker with nine votes, defeating Honourable Olamide George who got four votes.
In the meantime, the new Ondo Speaker David Oleyelogun, Deputy Ogundeji Iroju and two others, Ayo Arowele and Segun Ajimotokin have all dumped the People Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
In the same vein the newly-elected Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, representing Ifedore Constituency, has decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He made the announcement at a news conference in Akure.
Oleyelogun was voted for as the new Speaker of the assembly after he polled nine out of 13 votes against Mr Olamide George, representing Akure-North, who got four votes.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Ifedayo Abegunde said the more the members of the party in the state, the more the party would be growing in confidence, to deliver the electoral promises to the people.
