At least 18 persons including women and children have been feared trapped under the rubble of a four-storey building which collapsed around in the Jabi area of Abuja.
It was gathered that the building which was under construction when it collapsed had over 50 people including workers and food sellers inside it.
Report says the building had been abandoned for over 15 years by the owner who recently mobilised workers to continue the construction of the structure.
Rescue officials of the federal capital territory development authority have arrived at the scene and have reportedly rescued about six persons while two corpses have been evacuated.
However, a heavy rain has also hampered rescue operations.
