Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has sympathized with the people of Ikare Akoko over the loss of lives and destruction of many houses by a rainstorm.
The governor during an on-the-spot assessment of the damage in many parts of the town also commiserated with the families who lost their loved ones, assuring victims that there would be effective relief collaborations between the agencies in charge of disasters of these magnitude.
It was gathered that almost 300 houses were affected by the rainstorm which occurred on sunday, rendering victims homeless and claiming the lives of two persons.
The Chairman, Akoko North East Local Government, Ashimiyu Adekunle thanked the state delegation for the visit and expressed confidence that succour will come soon with the governor’s promise.
Earlier, the Deputy Governor visited the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh and the Owa Ale of Ikare, Oba Adegbite Adedoyin to sympathize with them.
