The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, has advised motorists coming into Lagos from various destinations, to take alternate routes after an early morning accident caused massive gridlock along the Lagos-Ibadan express way.

Speaking to Newsmen in Abuja, the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, appealed to motorists to be patient, as the corps was doing all it can to ensure the accident wreckage was cleared on time and also to be mindful of the ongoing construction on the road.

The accident which occurred in the early hours of today saw a diesel laden tanker and a trailer carrying biscuits colliding, leading to an explosion that has claimed the lives of 4 people.

The Sector Commandant of the FRSC in Lagos who spoke to Newsmen said carelessness and wrong usage of the road caused the accident.
