Rockhampton: Homes in Australian city flooded as river peaks

Authorities say more than 200 houses in the Australian City of Rockhampton have been flooded after a river reached its flood peak.

It was gathered that the Fitzroy River rose to 8.75 metres in the Central Queensland City.

It comes nine days after cyclone Debbie made landfall in Northern Queensland, causing floods along a 1,200 kilometres stretch of coast.

Authorities said Rockhampton would face major flood for at least a day.
